Question 1

Can I still download songs from Udio in 2026?

Accepted Answer

No. Udio's help center says downloading of audio, video, and stems has been disabled since its October 29, 2025 partnership with Universal Music Group. A paid Udio plan raises the credit limit; it does not bring downloads back.

Question 2

Is Udio dead or shutting down?

Accepted Answer

No. Udio is still operating. Its Warner Music Group article from November 19, 2025 says the transition terms that took effect on October 29, 2025, after the Universal Music Group deal, still apply. Downloads of audio, video, and stems remain disabled. Creating songs and sharing them on udio.com still works, according to Udio's help.

Question 3

Why did Udio disable downloads?

Accepted Answer

Udio turned off downloads as part of its October 2025 partnership with Universal Music Group. Udio's help article lists the change with higher credit limits for Standard and Pro and does not give a date for downloads to return.

Question 4

Is LumiMusic a good Udio alternative?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when you need a file you can download and a license to use it. LumiMusic is a Udio alternative with no download cap on paid plans or with an active credit pack. Starter downloads are MP3. Pro, Unlimited, and an active credit pack also include WAV. Udio is still a good fit if you only play songs inside Udio.

Question 5

Can I move my Udio songs to another app?

Accepted Answer

Only songs you already downloaded. LumiMusic cannot access your Udio library, retrieve a song from it, or license a Udio song. If you have a file you own the rights to, you can upload it to LumiMusic tools such as extend, remix, or stem splitting.

Question 6

Can I keep working on a song I downloaded from Udio?

Accepted Answer

If you already have the file and the rights to use it, upload it to the LumiMusic Extender, Remixer, or Stem Splitter and continue from there. LumiMusic cannot pull the song out of your Udio library.

Question 7

Can I use songs I make on LumiMusic commercially?

Accepted Answer

On Starter, Pro, Unlimited, or an active credit pack, yes. You can obtain a commercial license for qualifying music, including songs made before paying. Udio's Terms allow personal, non-commercial use only, and Udio downloads stay off.

Question 8

Is there a Udio alternative with a less strict content check?

Accepted Answer

If you want a Udio alternative with a looser content check, use R series on LumiMusic. It has fewer content limits and more creative range, and one task costs more credits than V series. It does not make the music copyright-free, and it does not skip the copyright check. You still need the rights to anything you upload.
