Almost every "best Suno alternative" list puts Udio at or near the top. Udio's own help center, in an article edited February 17, 2026, ends with this line: "Note that downloading of audio, video, and stems has been disabled."
If you started looking because Suno's monthly download cap felt tight, the most-recommended alternative currently hands you zero files instead of twenty. That is not a mistake in those rankings. It is what happens when one search gets treated as one job.
"Suno alternative" covers at least four different jobs, and they do not have the same answer. Working out which one is yours takes less time than reading another eleven-tool comparison.
Name Your Limit First
Three constraints account for most of this search.
Can the file leave the platform? Suno's downloads FAQ sets the limits that apply from September 3, 2026: up to 7 lifetime trial downloads on Free, 20 per month on Pro, and 60 per month on Premier. Unused downloads do not roll over, extra ones can be purchased, and Premier users working in Suno Studio can export without that cap. One song counts once regardless of format, and its stems count as part of that same download. Listening and sharing inside Suno stay unlimited on every plan.
Does your license actually cover the release? This one has a wrinkle worth reading twice. Suno's help center says a Pro or Premier subscription does not automatically grant retroactive commercial rights to songs you made on the free plan. The September 2026 downloads FAQ says that any song you download as a paying subscriber carries commercial rights. Is your next hour a new draft, or a change to audio you already have? Most people skip this one, and it is the question that decides whether you need a different generator at all.
If You Want Another Full-Song Generator
If you want another tool that turns a prompt into a finished song with vocals, the field is smaller than the rankings imply. Two platforms are genuinely in it.
Udio is the closest thing to a like-for-like swap, and the export situation is the whole story.
Its help center documents what the October 2025 Universal Music Group partnership changed: a one-time grant of 1,000 non-expiring credits, Standard's monthly ceiling raised from 1,200 to 2,400 credits, Pro's from 4,800 to 6,000, and Pro subscribers able to run five song sets at once instead of four. The same article confirms audio, video, and stem downloads are off.
That makes Udio a decent place to write and listen, and a poor place to build a release. Udio has said it hopes to restore some export path after its licensed relaunch, but there is no published date, so treat it as unavailable until the help center says otherwise. Check that page yourself before subscribing; this policy has moved more than once.
ElevenLabs Music does generate full songs with vocals, including rap, multilingual lyrics, and mid-track genre changes, and it keeps section-level inpainting so you can regenerate a bridge without touching the chorus.
Its plan page, read September 6, 2026, prices in minutes rather than songs: Free gives 11 minutes a month for personal use only, Starter at $6/month gives 33 minutes, Creator at $22/month gives 134 minutes, and Pro at $99/month gives 667 minutes. Extra minutes run $0.33 down to $0.15 depending on tier.
The line that matters is in the commercial column. Free is personal use only. Starter is marked commercial without streaming release, so a Spotify or Apple Music drop starts at Creator. The FAQ also carves film, TV, and Studio Games out of self-serve commercial use entirely. Stems are 2 and 4 on the middle tiers and up to 6 on Pro.
If You Need Music You Can Clear for a Client
When the track goes under a video, an ad, or a podcast, your problem is licensing, not vocal realism.

ElevenLabs belongs in this conversation too, on the training-data side: it says its model is trained on licensed data only, which is a different kind of comfort from a license you sign. Neither approach is a legal opinion, and neither removes your responsibility for anything you upload as a reference.
The trade-off in this category is range. SOUNDRAW is built for beds, beats, and cues you write over, so if you need a lead vocal singing your own lyrics, the previous section is the right place to look.
If You Want the Model on Your Own Hardware
ACE-Step 1.5 is the serious option here. It is MIT-licensed, which permits commercial use, and its maintainers report a full song in under 10 seconds on an RTX 3090 while staying under 4GB of VRAM. It covers cover generation, repainting, and vocal-to-instrumental conversion across 50+ languages.
Stable Audio Open appears on the same lists and does not belong there. Stability's model card states plainly that the model cannot generate realistic vocals and caps output at 47 seconds, and commercial use runs through a separate Stability license rather than the open weights. It is a loop and sound-design model.
Running locally swaps a subscription for your own hardware, setup time, and troubleshooting. That is a fair trade if you already keep a GPU busy, and a poor one if you just need a chorus finished this week.
If You Already Have Audio Worth Keeping
This is the largest group hiding inside the query, and no ranked list serves it. You are not shopping for a better prompt box. You have a beat, a rough vocal, a two-minute draft, or a bounce that needs to be louder, and the next edit felt awkward where you were.
First, be accurate about what Suno already does, because a lot of alternative posts get this wrong. Its compare-plans page lists add vocals, add instrumental, extract stems, advanced editing that replaces or adds a section, remix, and Suno Studio. It is not a one-shot black box. What differs is what each revision costs you. Every retry while you hunt for a keeper spends credits, and on Suno every keeper you pull off the platform spends one of your monthly download slots. A producer who bounces stems into a DAW hits that wall long before a 2,500-credit allowance runs out.

When Staying Put Is the Right Call
Stay if the reason you went looking turns out to be volume, price, or a rumor.
Suno Pro at $10/month is still a cheap entry for fast vocal-song drafting, with a mature prompt community around it. If your complaint is that credits run out mid-month, that is a plan question rather than a platform question. If it is that something better might land soon, note that Suno V6 has not launched and no dated successor has been announced. Pausing a song you could finish today is the expensive choice.
Switch when a specific constraint will not move: files you cannot export at the volume you need, a license that does not cover your use, hardware you want the model to run on, or an edit that keeps costing you drafts and download slots.
