Suno pricing is a three-part budget, not a single monthly number. On August 20, 2026, the official Suno pricing page still listed Free, Pro, and Premier. The plan card shows the subscription price and credit pool. It does not, by itself, tell you whether a finished file can leave the platform or be used commercially.

Those limits are separate:

  • Credits pay for generation and related actions.
  • Plan timing decides whether new songs can be used commercially.
  • Downloads decide how many files you can take off Suno after September 3, 2026.

If you only compare headline prices, Pro looks cheap. If you need client exports, YouTube releases, or a track you made on Free, the other two limits usually matter more.

What Suno Plans Cost Right Now

The public pricing page currently shows these monthly rates. Its Annual toggle is labeled "save 20%" and showed $8/month for Pro and $24/month for Premier when billed yearly.

PlanPublic priceCreditsCommercial useFile downloads from Sept 3, 2026
Free$050 credits renewed daily, listed as 10 songsNo commercial useNo monthly download allotment; Suno's download FAQ still describes 7 lifetime trial downloads for personal use

Premier$30/month, or $24/month billed annually10,000 credits/month, listed as up to 2,000 songsCommercial-use rights for new songs made on the plan60 song downloads per month

Official sources used for this table:

Taxes are calculated at checkout. Prices, credit costs per action, and feature lists can change, so confirm the live pricing page and account UI before a large project.

Pro and Premier currently include v5.5 access, advanced editing, add-on credit purchases, a priority queue of up to 10 songs at once, uploads up to 30 minutes, and the ability to add vocals or instrumentals. Premier also includes Suno Studio and a third stem-separation type labeled Advanced split. Free is limited to v4.5-all, an 8-minute upload cap, a shared queue, and no add-on credits.

Credits Buy Attempts, Not Finished Releases

Suno's plan cards convert credits into an "up to N songs" figure. Use that number for capacity, not for a release calendar.

The pricing page also says subscription credits do not carry over from day to day or month to month. Purchased top-up credits do not expire, but they require an active subscription to use. If you exhaust monthly credits, Pro and Premier can buy add-on credits; Free cannot.

A few things follow from that:

  • A 2,500-credit Pro month can absorb a lot of retries while you hunt for a usable vocal take.
  • The same month still ends when the credits refresh, even if you never exported a keeper.
  • Stem splits, edits, covers, and remasters draw from the same pool. The "up to 500 songs" line is a generation ceiling, not a promise that 500 finished tracks will fit the month.

A usable estimate is expected keepers × retries × other credit-using actions. If you usually keep one song in five generations, Pro's 500-song figure is closer to 100 keepers before other features spend anything. Check the in-product credit cost before a batch. That cost can change by model and feature.

Commercial Rights Follow the Plan at Generation Time

Suno's pricing FAQ currently says Free plans do not include commercial rights, and Pro or Premier users can use their songs commercially if they also follow the rules of any platform they share on.

The current Terms of Service draw a sharper line. On Pro or Premier, Suno assigns its right, title, and interest in Output owned by Suno and generated during the paid subscription term. Output from the free tier, or from a Basic tier still named in the terms, is limited to lawful, internal, personal, non-commercial use with attribution. The same terms say Suno does not guarantee that copyright will vest in any Output. Plan permission and copyright certainty are not the same thing.

Timing is the easy mistake. Suno's help article If I subscribe, do I get rights for the songs I made before subscribing? says a Pro or Premier subscription does not automatically grant retroactive commercial-use licensing for songs made on the free plan. Retroactive rights may be offered in specific cases, but that is not guaranteed.

Suno has also announced new Terms of Service on September 3, 2026. Its downloads and terms update says songs downloaded from Suno on paid plans remain yours to use commercially or personally. Until that date, treat the March 26, 2026 terms and the current help articles as the live rules, then re-read the new terms before you publish.

If the track needs to be monetized, generate it while Pro or Premier is active. Use Free only for in-app experiments. Keep the plan receipt, generation date, and the exported file, and re-read the current terms before YouTube, streaming, client work, or paid ads.

From September 3, Downloads Are a Separate Quota

Credits and downloads stop being the same budget on September 3, 2026. Suno's policy, described on the pricing page, the official blog post, and the upcoming-changes FAQ, limits file exports:

  • Free: 7 lifetime trial downloads for personal, non-commercial use. They do not reset monthly.
  • Pro: 20 downloads per month, with commercial-use rights.
  • Premier: 60 downloads per month, with commercial-use rights.
  • Premier users working in Suno Studio: no download limit for that Studio workflow.
  • Extra downloads will be available for purchase after the limit.

Suno's FAQ also defines the counting rules that change the month:

  • One song counts as one download, regardless of format.
  • Downloading the same song again does not use another slot.
  • Stems belong to that song's download, not extra slots.
  • Failed or interrupted downloads do not count.
  • Unused Pro and Premier downloads do not roll over.
  • Listening and sharing on Suno stay unlimited on every plan, including Free.
  • Limits apply to downloads starting September 3, including songs created before that date.
  • If you cancel, the library stays in the account, but downloads follow Free limits.

That is why "up to 500 songs" on Pro is not the same as 500 files on disk. A creator who generates widely and exports only keepers may still fit inside 20 monthly downloads. A creator who dumps every take to a DAW will hit the download cap first.

Three Suno budget limits: generation credits, commercial-use timing, and file downloads

Choose the Plan From the Job, Not the Credit Headline

Use Free when you are learning prompts, comparing genres, or deciding whether Suno's vocal style fits the project. Do not treat Free output as a commercial asset unless the current terms explicitly allow the use you need.

Choose Pro when you need paid-plan rights for new songs, v5.5, editing, stem splits, add-on credits, and a regular generation volume. For many independent creators, Pro is the first paid step.

Choose Premier when the larger credit pool, Suno Studio 2.0, Advanced split, or the higher download cap is part of the actual workflow. Premier is usually a volume or Studio decision, not a default upgrade.

A short fit check:

JobUsually enoughWatch this limit
Prompt testing and throwaway draftsFreeNo commercial use; 7 lifetime trial downloads
A few commercial tracks each monthPro20 downloads after Sept 3, plus credit spend on retries
High-volume generation or Studio productionPremierMonthly credits still do not roll over

If you already have a short draft and the next job is length, restyle, or stems rather than another first take, a later-stage tool may spend fewer first-draft credits than generating again. LumiMusic's guide to making a song longer and remix workflow cover those cases.

Compare Suno With LumiMusic by Workflow, Not Entry Price

Suno currently wins on paid-entry price. LumiMusic Starter is $19/month, or $8.3/month when billed annually at $99. Suno Pro is $10/month, or $8/month billed annually. Price alone is not a reason to switch.

Compare the jobs that spend the money:

Choose Suno when the job is many fast vocal-song drafts at the lowest paid entry price, or when Suno Studio is the production surface you want.

Choose LumiMusic when the expensive part is revision rather than the first take: extending a short draft, restyling a source you can use, adding vocals or an instrumental, splitting stems, or licensing a qualifying track that already exists in the account. LumiMusic's commercial license still requires the rights to anything you upload, and it does not convert third-party material into a free-to-use source.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Suno cost right now?

Checked on August 20, 2026: Free is $0. Pro is $10/month, or $8/month billed annually. Premier is $30/month, or $24/month billed annually. Confirm the live Suno pricing page before you pay.

How many credits do Suno plans include?

Free has 50 credits renewed daily. Pro has 2,500 credits per month. Premier has 10,000 credits per month. Subscription credits do not roll over. Purchased top-up credits do not expire, but they need an active subscription.

Can I use Free-plan Suno songs commercially after I upgrade?

Do not assume that. Suno's help article says Pro and Premier do not automatically grant retroactive commercial-use licensing for songs made on the free plan.

Do Suno downloads stay unlimited?

Not after September 3, 2026. Suno's announced limits are 7 lifetime trial downloads on Free, 20 per month on Pro, and 60 per month on Premier, with no download limit for Premier users working in Suno Studio. Extra downloads will be available for purchase.

Is Suno cheaper than LumiMusic?

At the published paid-entry price, yes: Suno Pro is $10/month versus LumiMusic Starter at $19/month. Annual entry prices are closer. Choose LumiMusic when downloads, revision tools, or licensing music already in the account matter enough to outweigh the cheaper first paid plan.

Conclusion

Pick a Suno plan from the constraint that will fail first. Credits decide how many attempts you can afford. The active plan at generation time decides whether a new song can be used commercially. From September 3, 2026, downloads decide how many of those songs can leave the platform.

Verify the current official page, generate under the plan you actually need, and keep the receipt with the file. If the next step is revision rather than another first draft, compare that workflow against current LumiMusic pricing.
